Submitting a site for free inclusion to the Online Motoring Directory

We take website functionality, design and content quality as our primary requirements for sites listed in the Online Motoring Directory. This ensures the directory will be helpful to all our visitors and provide them with the information they require quickly and easily from high quality sites. All motoring websites submitted to the directory are reviewed by human editors to ensure they meet the standards and guidelines we have set out. Not only is this important for the functionality of the directory it is of equal importance for both visitors and publishers alike.

Please read through our submission guidelines below before suggesting a website for inclusion. If you are satisfied that the website you are submitting meets the requirements please follow the appropriate link at the foot of the page for the type of free submission you wish to make.

Upon approval you will be notified by email of your inclusion to the directory and given a link to your listing. Please be aware that the hierarchical layout of this directory will never be spread further that 3 sub categories deep to allow full crawling of all pages in the directory. If you feel there is a more appropriate category for your website submission that is not listed on the submission form please feel free to suggest a new category at any level.

Submission Guidelines
  • All websites submitted must be motoring related and have freely available content.
  • Please do not submit mirror sites that contain identical content, but have different URLs.
  • Please do not submit URLs that contain only the same or similar content as other sites you may have listed in the directory.  Sites with overlapping and repetitive content are not helpful to users of the directory.  Multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites.
  • Please do not disguise your submission and submit the same URL more than once.
    Example: www.onlinemotoringdirectory.com and www.onlinemotoringdirectory.com/index.htm
  • Please do not submit any site with a landing page that uses a redirect to another address.
  • The Online Motoring Directory will not allow sites to be listed that encourage or promote illegal or dangerous motoring activities that are outside the boundaries of the law.
  • Please do not submit sites "under construction." Please ensure the site is completed before submission. Sites that are incomplete or contain broken graphics or links aren't good websites for the directory.
  • Please do not submit sites which the content is largely made up of Ad-Sense links.
  • Please do not submit sites which have pages residing on the server provided by link farms. Link farming is considered as spam by the major search engines and is detrimental to all users of the Online Motoring Directory
  • Submit non-English Motoring sites to the appropriate country under International Motoring.
  • Please don't submit sites consisting largely of affiliate links.

Updating Submitted Sites

When a site is accepted into the Online Motoring Directory you may find the category or description is not accurate or reflective of the site you have submitted. In this case you can edit your site description and category by following the Update Listing link on the head of the page where your site resides. Fill out the form with details of your preferred category and provide us with a description.

Our editors are guided and have considerable experience in writing and editing submissions form a third person, informative and objective point of view, however we understand that discrepancies do happen and will do all we can to help meet your requirements.

The Last Word

In order to make the Online Motoring Directory a useful resource requires us to practise broad editorial discretion in determining the content and structure of the directory. Our editors will decide what sites to include, where to include them and the content of the title and description of the site.

Categories and listings can be changed or deleted at any time at our sole discretion. An example of deletion would be when a submitted site substantially changes the nature of the original content after acceptance which falls outside the submission guidelines.

Please understand that an editor's review of any given submission may vary from site to site and you may not always agree with our choices, but we hope you can appreciate that we will always endeavour to make fair and reasonable choices for the good of the Online Motoring Directory and its visitors.

Website Submission Options

Priority Submission
 Priority option provides listed sites with the most valuable submission and takes editorial review priority over all other submissions.
1). Listings will always be placed in the root folder of the chosen category.
2). Will be given up to 4 additional deep links in the site description paragraph using keywords of your choice for anchor text.
3). Can have multiple listings in different category's root if the site has other area's of motoring interest and
4). Will be reviewed within 2-7 working days.
Priority listings will be required to provide one link to our Parent site and one to the Online Motoring Directory.

Reciprocal Submission
 The reciprocal submission option is a three way linking structure to add more page rank value to your listing should it be accepted. The link you place on your site will point to our parent site so the Online Motoring Directory listing will be a pure back link to your site. Editorial review time for this submission method is approximately 4-8 weeks

Standard Submission
 The standard submission is a one way link from the Online Motoring Directory to the submitted site. Editorial review time is approximately 2-6 months.

Please Note:
In no way are site submissions accepted or rejected on the basis of the type of submission chosen, content and usability will always take precedence during the editorial review. We simply give editorial review priority for the good of the OMD and the parent which supports and keeps the directory free. We would urge you to review our parent site and make a choice for your submission based on your views of the quality and content. If you do not feel the OMD's parent would be of any help or use to your visitors you should select the standard submission option. You will find a link to the Parent on any of the submission pages.
